The JM Hare Transport Story so far……

I suppose the passion for haulage started back in 2001 when founder Jonathan Hare passed his HGV test.

Jonathan`s main aim in life was farming, having being brought up on his parents and grandparents small holding. He followed it the footsteps of his elders and pursued his farming path. It just so happened that in the year of 2001 Jonathan celebrated his 21st Birthday in the March and the Foot & Mouth Disease  raised its ugly head.

As the cases of Foot & Mouth increased and grow closer to the farm where Jonathan worked, he thought he best find an alternative to farming, just incase…

Well the just incase theory turned into Jonathan passing his HGV test by June 2001 and becoming a driver for a local animal feed company driving a either a rigid bulk blower or a curtainsider delivering animal feed to farms, pet shops and  wholesalers throughout the North East of England and Cumbria.

As driving had somewhat got into Jonathan`s blood it was time to move on to living away from home long distance driving. The chance to drive an articulated bulk tipper was the ideal opportunity. This led to several other opportunities and Jonathan found himself learning his way in a busy commercial workshop for a well known haulage company.

In late 2002 Jonathan was asked to join a team to assist in there workshop and the chance to train to be there low loader driver. There wasn`t much done in the workshop as the first time out with the low loader had him completely hooked. Unbeknown to Jonathan at the time this would be the start of something that would never leave him and 10 years later the start of JM Hare Transport.
